ShoWest: Sherlock Holmes is a Comedy? Is It That Bad?

The first thing you need to know is that this isn't the Sherlock Holmes you know… It a funky way, it's kind of like if Snatch were about a British detective from the 1800s, which is exactly what it is, thanks to Guy Ritchie writing and directing.

Whose signature top hat is Downey wearing? Mr. Peanut's? Holmes wore a deerstalker.

~ShadouNote: Most of the commenters liked the fun feel of the Sherlock Holmes movie. I... have reservations about that. That's why I think the comment was cool.

Rumor: Stephen Sommers Fired Mid-Way Through G.I. Joe?

This sounds like the kind of story we'd usually hear coming from Fox, but this time it's Paramount. A user on the Don Murphy Message Boards (via Latino Review) has posted an unverified story detailing a behind-the-scenes fiasco regarding the upcoming G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra movie.

Marlon Wayans is always the red flag for a movie. I figure Hell is kind of like a nonstop Marlon Wayan's reel.

Just discovered this item Dugg from a FirstShowing.net item:

Shutter Island, based on an Alfred Hitchcock novel (which I actually only heard about from the film), is already in post-production as listed in IMDB.com.

Shutter Island is directed by Martin Scorsese and stars Leonardo di Caprio who has also starred in Scorsese's The Aviator, The Departed, and Gangs of New York.
